چکیده

Citrus canker is a quarantined disease caused by the bacterial plant pathogen Xanthomonas citri subsp. (Xcc), which causes persistent surface damage, leaf and fruit drop, tree decline in citrus plants. The cultivar Citron C-05 (Citrus medica L.) disease-resistant genotype identified after years of screening at National Center for Improvement (Changsha), displays allergic, necrotic, responses to Xcc. In this study, BAK1 gene was be resistance involved plant-microbe interaction between Functional investigations revealed that both CsBAK1 (C. sinensis BAK1) or CmBAK1(C. could inhibit growth Xcc some extent when transiently expressed susceptible ‘Bingtang’ sweet orange. Critical regions CmBAK1 promoter sequence were creating downstream deletions exposing mutants determine effects on phenotype; 426 bp region (−2000~–1574) as key functional responsible eliciting hypersensitive response Through arrayed cDNA libraries yeast one-hybrid assays, basic APETALA2/ETHYLENE RESPONSE FACTOR (AP2/ERF) transcription factor CmRAP2-13 binds directly activates expression identified. Moreover, transcriptional analysis an obvious increase transcript levels CsRAP2-13 C-05, American citron, Finger citron. we present identification activators are found interact with proteins These results reveal coordinated regulatory mechanism RAP2-13, may defence through regulation BAK1.

The Effect of Citrus Essential Oils and Their Constituents on Growth of Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri.

Citrus bacterial canker (CBC) caused by Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri (Xcc), is the most devastating of the citrus diseases worldwide. During our study, we found that Essential oils (EOs) of some citrus cultivars are effective on Xcc. Therefore, it prompted us to determine the plant metabolites responsible for the antibacterial properties. We obtained EOs from some locally cultivated citrus by...

Effect of X-irradiation on Citrus Canker Pathogen Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri of Satsuma Mandarin Fruits

Citrus canker caused by Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri (Xcc) is one of the most important bacterial diseases of citrus. Because citrus canker is not found in many countries including European Union and Australia, Xcc is strictly regulated in order to prevent its spread. In this study, the effects of X-irradiation on Xcc growth either in the suspension or on the surface of citrus fruits were inv...

Selection of Small Synthetic Antimicrobial Peptides Inhibiting Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri Causing Citrus Canker

Citrus canker disease decreases the fruit quality and yield significantly, furthermore, emerging of streptomycin-resistant pathogens threatens the citrus industry seriously because of a lack of proper control agents. Small synthetic antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) could be a promising alternative. Fourteen hexapeptides were selected by using positional scanning of synthetic peptide combinatorial ...

Antibacterial activity of alkyl gallates against Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri.

The plant-pathogenic bacterium Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri is the causal agent of Asiatic citrus canker, a serious disease that affects all the cultivars of citrus in subtropical citrus-producing areas worldwide. There is no curative treatment for citrus canker; thus, the eradication of infected plants constitutes the only effective control of the spread of X. citri subsp. citri. Since the e...

Identification of Inhibitors Targeting Ferredoxin-NADP⁺ Reductase from the Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri Phytopathogenic Bacteria.

Ferredoxin-NADP(H) reductases (FNRs) deliver NADPH or low potential one-electron donors to redox-based metabolism in plastids and bacteria. Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri (Xcc) is a Gram-negative bacterium responsible for citrus canker disease that affects commercial citrus crops worldwide. The Xcc fpr gene encodes a bacterial type FNR (XccFPR) that contributes to the bacterial response to oxid...
